Crochet Slippers Pattern

I've been waiting to show you my latest creation, my beautiful new crochet slippers.

I couldn't resist buying the pattern for these from
Two Girls Patterns on Etsy as they are so cute.

The wonderful thing about them, is their double sole that most other patterns for crochet slippers don't have.  They are so comfortable and I now have very warm tootsies!!  Something which is very pleasing as usually, at this time of year, my feet are freezing.

The pattern comes in 6 different sizes for ladies. I made up mine in size 9, which converts to a UK size 7.

I used a shoe size conversion chart to make sure I was making the right size for me.

The pattern is in US terminology but I didn't find it hard to convert to UK terminology.

It is an extremely well written pattern and straight forward to follow.

Two Girls recommended using worsted weight yarn so I opted for Sirdar's Supersoft Aran in Brown for the sole, and Aqua for the upper.  It is a good quality 100% acrylic yarn, very soft but hard wearing, ideal for slippers.

Buzz approves too!

I used two buttons from my stash that I  found on one of my hunting trips around the charity shops.

I love them so much, I think I will definitely need another pair!!

If you would like to purchase the pattern follow the link below to Two Girl's shop

The pattern is called Violet Women's Slipper

Crochet Christmas Puddings

Here's my latest creations for the Christmas range
I've been adding to my Shop recently ....

They are available in sets of 4 or singularly.

They make fun tree decorations, table decorations and a little gift for your guests to take home and hang on their own tree.

Crafty Idea!

Why not use those mini pegs to attach a piece of decorative paper with your guests name to the hanging tab and use them as a place setting.

They also compliment the Mistletoe decorations a treat!

Big Crochet Flowers

Last week, you might remember me telling you that I was working on some over sized crochet flowers, to make into corsages and hair accessories, for my little shop, well here are the final ones ......I will be adding them to the shop shortly.

Crochet Roses

These sparked off my interest in looking for crochet flower patterns and I found this one in Loop's Vintage Crochet book by Susan Cropper, which is full of beautiful patterns to crochet.

The pattern is called Peony Corsage and is written by Kate Jenkins

I love the final results, it was fairly easy to crochet and stitch together.
I used aran yarn so it changed the scale to make it larger than suggested.

Peony Corsage

I think I will be whipping up some more of these as I think you will agree, it is stunning.

I hope you all had a good weekend

Mad Hatter's Tea Party Finds

After yesterday's post on
Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland' film,
I thought I should explore, with fear and intrepidation, the online world of designer/makers to see what I might find with my looking glass.
Putting myself in Alice's shoes, and with her adventures in mind, here are the beauties I discovered
for you all to see .......

I hope you like, some are whimsy, weird and all are wonderful.
Gotta go, or else I will be late, late for a very important date!

Soopsee Introduction

With a view to 'spreading the Bee and Buzz word' online,
I found a site called Soopsee, through Etsy,
which is FREE to create your own website with details of your work,
photographs and links to your Etsy shop.
Updates to your shop can be automatically entered to your Soopsee acount
and you can automatically 'tweet' new items too,
which in my book seems a great idea to save time spent online.
I managed to set mine up within an hour.  It was really easy.

Just thought it might be worth mentioning as it may be of use to you
if you have an Etsy shop, and you are not aware of it already.

click the link to see my Soopsee

I hope this was interesting and helpful

Stomach Trouble & Shop Update

Buzz Dog

As Buzz dog was in charge last week, while I was feeling under the weather,
I had a bit of time to do some lovely card making to make me feel brighter.

I have been in a lot of pain and discomfort in my stomach which made me
a 'miserable bee',
not the 'busy bee' I normally like to be.
The doctor thinks I could have a stomach ulcer or gallstones
so I am waiting for an ultrasound scan now.
However, I am pleased to say I think the tablets are helping
which is a great relief and
I am starting to feel a bit better.

I am having to eat lightly, and avoid all things spicy.
But my mind has been conjuring up images of curries,
spicy tomato pasta, chocolate and cream cakes just to taunt me a bit more!
It is always the way, you always want the things you can't have.

So to keep my mind off all edible lovelies,
I have been creating some Greetings Cards for my shops:

6 cards, 3 each of 2 designs
of my favourite 'little teapot' and vintage 'little handbag'
photos with inserts and matching envelopes
perfect for an everyday ocassion card,
notelet, birthdays and thank you notes etc

These little beauties come in their own gift bag, with the cards wrapped  in a beautiful ribbon.
A perfect gift for Mother's Day.
My mum loves sending cards with her latest news to her friends.

priced at £10.00

Inspired by Valentine's day, I created these lovely
Heart greetings cards.

3 cards, one of each design
gold heart
white heart
retro pink fabric heart

with inserts and envelopes

These beauties are great for anniversaries, birthdays, thank you notes, valentines, weddings.

£5.00 for 3 cards

I hope you have had a good start to the week
